Phillips made 44 saves in the Huskies’ two games at the Desert Hockey Classic last weekend, and stopped three more shots in the shootout that clinched the tournament title.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings’ four-game win streak ended with a 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings last night. Jimmy Howard stopped 27 of 30 shots in the loss. The Wings skate at Phoenix Thursday night. Face-off is at 9:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
The Wings have placed Drew Miller on injured reserve. Miller suffered a torn meniscus during Sunday’s win at Anaheim. The injury is being evaluated, and no timetable for his return has been announced. The NHL mandates that players must miss at least 24 days or 10 games when sent to IR. The move gives Detroit enough salary cap space to activate Kyle Quincey without needing to take another player off the roster.

The Detroit Pistons host the San Antonio Spurs this evening. Tip-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
