Canadian Highland Copper Close To Acquiring White Pine

A Canadian mining company is closing in on completing the acquisition of a copper mine in Ontonagon County.

Highland Copper Company says it has entered into an agreement with Copper Range Company to extend the period to complete the acquisition of the White Pine project until March 31st.

The final closing of the acquisition is subject to releasing Copper Range for financial assurance and certain environmental obligations concerning the historical White Pine mine.

Discussions with Copper Range and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality are ongoing.

Highland is hoping to complete the acquisition by the end of January.

Highland Copper Company is a Canadian exploration company focused on exploring and developing copper projects within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The Company has assembled a number of advanced-stage copper projects including Copperwood, the White Pine North historical copper resource area, part of the White Pine, and the Keweenaw project.
