Start Off The New Year By Adopting An Animal From The Shelter

A great way to start off the New Year is by giving a home to one of the 12 Dogs of Christmas.

The Copper Country Humane Society, in partnership with Houghton Community Broadcasting, is about one-fourth of the way through their annual promotion to find these dogs their forever home.

Katelyn Hough works at the shelter and she says they take care of the animals for as long as it takes.

Hough would love to have you come in and adopt one of their dogs or one of dozens of cats, but if long term adoption is something you can’t commit to, simply volunteering a little bit of your time can also be a big help.

There are also opportunities to provide temporary foster homes for animals from the shelter.
