“Problematic,” “price point,” “secret sauce” and “walk it back” are just some of the words and phrases which made the 2015 list of words that should be banished from the American lexicon, according to the latest Banished Words List from Lake Superior State University.
In its 41st year, the list is a sort of watchdog for overused and useless words and phrases.
Making the top of the list in ’15 was the word “so.” LSSU’s Tom Pink says “so” became a common, albeit useless way of starting a sentence.
Other words making the list are “manspreading,” which tries to describe a man taking up too much space on the bus.
Also on the list is “physicality” and “break the internet.”
