The Board of State Canvassers will meet next Tuesday, and will examine recall petitions against Governor Rick Snyder, State Senator Wayne Schmidt and Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof.
Schmidt and Meekhof are being targeted for their votes to raise fuel taxes and vehicle registration fees to pay for road funding. The governor, meanwhile, is under scrutiny for the Flint water crisis.
Also on the agenda is what could be a third group looking to legalize the use of recreational marijuana. Abrogate Prohibition Michigan is hoping to get its ballot proposal language certified.
There are already two other groups collecting signatures to support a ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana use in Michigan and tax it.
A group pushing to add lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered people to the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act is also presenting its petition language to the board as well.
