Valuable Coins Dropped In Salvation Army Red Kettle

It was a pleasant surprise for Salvation Army bell-ringers in Bay City.

Someone earlier this month deposited two South African Kruggerands in front of a Bangor Township grocery store.

The coins are worth an estimated $1,800, according to the Salvation Army.

The Bay City Times reports the coins were dropped into the pot sometime between December 4th and December 6th.

It’s the third year in a row Kruggerands were donated in Bay County.
