Two people are recovering from injuries sustained in a two-car accident yesterday afternoon.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident which happened at the intersection of Main Street and Paradise Road in Portage Township.
Investigators say a Ford pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old Dodgeville man pulled out from Paradise Road onto Main Street into the path of a car driven by a 25-year-old Dodgeville woman.
The woman was unable to avoid hitting the pickup and smashed into it’s side causing major damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers were taken to U.P. Health Systems—Portage by Mercy Ambulance.
The driver of the truck was cited for failing to yield at a signed intersection.
