Two downstate men are in custody and facing drug charges after being arrested in Houghton County.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man from Flint and a 43-year-old man from Detroit on multiple felony drug counts Thursday.
Officers from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, the Houghton City Police and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team conducted a joint investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence located on Saw Street in Lake Linden.
During the search detectives located and seized over $10,000 in heroin and cocaine along with approximately $2000.00 in cash.
The two suspects were arrested at the scene and lodged at the Houghton County Jail on charges relating to the distribution of heroin and cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin and cocaine.
Names of the suspects are not being released at this time pending arraignment in District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post and the Lake Linden Police Department also assisted with the execution of the search warrant and the arrests.
