In the regional semifinals of the high school volleyball tournament last night…
– In Class B… Houghton eliminated Sault Ste. Marie 3-0. The Gremlins will face Cadillac in the regional final tomorrow night at 7:00 at Grayling. UPDATE – The date and location of this match have been changed. Houghton will face Cadillac at Sault Ste. Marie, not Grayling. The match will begin at 6:00. The team will leave Houghton High School tomorrow morning at 9:30.
– In Class C… Calumet got past Manistique 3-1. The Copper Kings will take on Iron Mountain in the regional final tomorrow night at 5:30 at Gladstone.
– In Class D… Lake Linden-Hubbell’s season ended with a 3-0 loss to Stephenson.
MTU
The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team will host Finlandia University in an exhibition match tonight. Tip-off is at 7:00 at the SDC.
NHL
Petr Mrazek made 38 saves, as the Detroit Red Wings edged the Washington Capitals 1-0 last night. Andreas Athanasiou scored his first NHL goal early in the third period to give Detroit the win. The Wings host the San Jose Sharks Friday night. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Pistons continue their West Coast trip tonight at Sacramento. Tip-off is at 10:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
