Fire at Fine Line Tire in Hancock

Here is the latest update:

On December 6th at approximately 6:00pm, the Hancock Police Department responded to a call of a possible structure fire at Fine Line Tire.

Upon arrival, a semi-trailer parked next to Fine Line Tire was on fire.

The trailer is used to store old used tires.

The Hancock Fire Department arrived on the scene and while putting out the fire, located a man standing near the trailer yelling for help.

The man said he needed medical assistance and was taken to U.P. Health System—Portage by Mercy Ambulance and later air lifted to a Milwaukee burn center.

The incident remains under investigation.  If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the Hancock City Police Department at 482-3102.

The Hancock Fire Department was called this evening to a tire fire at Fine Line Tire in Hancock.

The fire was in a trailer behind the building.

Hancock Fire Dept. Captain Mark Dennis says the fire was confined to the trailer and the building itself did not take damage.

The fire was under control by 7:30pm.
