A U.S. Congressman from Michigan continues to vehemently oppose effort by Canada to build a nuclear waste storage facility near Lake Huron.
Canadian officials have delayed a plan by 90-days to build a nuclear waste storage facility in Ontario, less than a mile from Lake Huron.
But Democrat Dan Kildee of Michigan, who opposes the proposal, says supporters are being inconsistent by taking massive safety precautions, but also insisting there are no health or environmental hazards to worry about.
The proposed site is less than a mile from the Lake Huron shore and across the lake from Tawas City.
