The Houghton High School Drama Club will take the stage this weekend.
Show Director David Crowley talks about why they chose “Little Women”.
Little Women is the story of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy and has been beloved by readers since the 1860’s.
This adaptation covers the first year of the story, allowing the play to cover that part of the story as fully as possible without shortening or cutting out too much of the storyline.
The production will feature professional costumes and a professional grade set to enhance the professional-level performances of the students.
Crowley says it’s rewarding to see these students grow as stage actors.
Performances are tonight and tomorrow at 7:00 pm with a matinee performance on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
The Drama Club will be accepting material and cash donations to 31 Backpacks at each performance. Here are some of the items they need most:
– Individual mac and cheese cups
– Flavored instant oatmeal
– Individual fruit cups and applesauce
– Toothbrushes
– Toothpaste
