The Michigan House has cleared a series of bills cracking down on people who make methamphetamine.
One of the bills would increase the fines and jail time for someone who is caught making meth near a school or library.
A second set of legislation would cut someone a break if they’re busted buying pseudoephedrine, a key ingredient in making meth.
The thought is to give someone a second chance by allowing a prosecutor to charge them with a misdemeanor as opposed to a felony.
However that person will still be placed on a list to ensure they can’t buy pseudoephedrine for five years.
The bill package now heads over to the Michigan Senate.
