US-2 Construction in Ironwood Completed

Travelers heading to Wisconsin won’t have to worry about detours on US-2 in Ironwood for a while.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says the two-year construction project of the road is complete and all lanes are now open.

The 15-million dollar project was intended to improve a motorist’s first impression of Michigan and the City of Ironwood as they crossed the Wisconsin border.

Paving was completed last week.

While a few minor items remain to be finished, the detour has been removed.
