Program Available for Yemeni Refugees

Arab and social service groups have announced a new effort to help bring refugees to Michigan from the war-torn country of Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula.

Michigan United, the Michigan Immigrants’ Rights Center and the Arab Community Center for Economic and social Services say casualties continue to mount from ground attacks and aerial bombardment in a dispute that involves multiple parties.

The groups have announced a new immigration program for Yemeni refugees, as well as free legal aid. Reports from that country this week continue to detail a deteriorating situation with the unabated war, as well as a lack of supplies and basic services.

In addition, there reportedly has been a nearly 16 percent rise in the price of basic products.
