Representative Scott Dianda has introduced new legislation that will regulate out-of-state travel and the conducting of business by employees of the Michigan Department of Transportation. More specifically, the bill states that MDOT employees shall not use state-owned aircrafts to travel for personal or official state business and shall use video conferencing to conduct business within the department, with other state agencies, and/or work contractors. Dianda says the bill would save taxpayer dollars by regulating MDOT travel expenses and taking advantage of the newest available technology.
