Sentence Handed Down In Drug Case

The court case against 73-year-old Warren Selden is now over.

Selden was sentenced in the Baraga County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

He is one of seventeen arrested after a drug bust in December.

Selden was charged with delivery or manufacture of hydromorphone following an investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

He pleaded no contest earlier this month.

The guideline range for his sentencing was set from zero to three months.

Defense Attorney David Gemignani stated the guidelines for sentencing were fair given his client’s age, medical, and mental state.

Prosecuting attorney Joseph O’Leary agreed to the guidelines but added that this was no small incident considering the amount of drugs involved.

Selden was sentenced to 45 days in the Baraga County Jail and credited for 14 days served.
