Fall Cleanup efforts will be underway over the next few weeks.
Houghton residents are invited to bring debris from their cleanup to the Trash Collection Center between October 2nd and November 1st.
The hours are Fridays between 4:00pm and 8:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
The center is located at the City Garage on the corner of Technical Avenue and Gundlach Road.
You’re allowed to bring leaves, small branches, yard clippings, wood and brick construction materials, and wood that is no longer than four feet in length.
Items not allowed include furniture, clothes, metal, tires, cardboard, paint and empty paint cans, household garbage and lightbulbs of any type.
There will be no attendant present but all activities will be recorded by camera.
Drop-off is self serve only and all garbage must be put in the dumpsters provided.
There is no fee to drop off items.
Seniors, 65 years and older, and handicapped residents living in single family homes can have their items picked up if they are unable to bring them to the garage.
