Carson Leads in New Poll

A new poll in Michigan shows Ben Carson leading the field of Republican candidates for president.

The survey, by Lansing-based Marketing Resource Group, has Carson topping the field at 24 percent. Donald Trump is a close second at 22 percent and within the margin of error.

Beyond those two, no other GOP candidate even reaches double figures.

Jeb Bush was the next closest with 8 percent of the vote followed by Mike Huckabee at 6 percent, Marco Rubio with 4 percent, Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz tied at 3 percent.

John Kasich, Rand Paul and Scott Walker received 2 percent.

Six others registered one percent or less in the poll.

The margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points.
