MLB – Tigers Win in 12th, Brewers Fall
Ian Kinsler singled home the winning run in the 12th inning, as the Detroit Tigers got past the Minnesota Twins 7-4 in 12 innings last night. J.D. Martinez followed Kinsler’s hit with a two-run homer to provide the winning margin. Each team had a chance to win the game in the ninth inning. Detroit scored two runs off Twins’ closer Kevin Jepson to take a one-run lead in the top of the inning. Bruce Rondon gave up the lead by allowing a run in the bottom of the frame. The Tigers used nine pitchers. Ian Kroll tossed three hitless innings to get the win.

The Tigers have today off, and host the Kansas City Royals tomorrow night. Justin Verlander will start against Johnny Cueto. Hear the first pitch at 7:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
Rookie Tommy Pham hit two home runs and a triple off Wily Peralta, as the Saint Louis Cardinals shaded the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 last night. Peralta lasted just four innings, and took the loss. Martin Maldonado homered for Milwaukee.

The Brewers open a home set against the Cincinnati Reds tonight. Jimmy Nelson will pitch against John Lackey.
Ryan Braun missed last night’s game because of stiffness in his lower back. Braun admitted that he’s been dealing with the back issue for some time. He said he hopes he can hold off treatment until after the season.
