Courser/Gamrat Committee Meets Today

A special Michigan House panel will dive into evidence today against two state lawmakers accused of misusing taxpayer resources.

An internal investigation found State Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat had staffers do political work on state time, among others things.

State Representative Ed McBroom chairs the special committee and says it’s important the panel is diligent in its investigation.

He adds he takes the responsibility very seriously.

The group of six lawmakers, four Democrats and two Republicans, could recommend Courser and Gamrat be censured, expelled or that they could continue to serve in the House.

The committee is also meeting Wednesday.
