Isle Royale Study is Honored

The Michigan Environmental Hall of Fame will be inducting a local study this week. Michigan Tech’s Isle Royale wolf-moose predator-prey study has been elected to be honored at the ceremony this Thursday in Grand Rapids. Wildlife ecology associate profesoor John Vucetich will be presenting the project. Vucetich is director of the Isle Royale wolf-moose research, the longest-running predator-prey study in the world. The project was started in 1958 by Durward L. Allen. Since then, the wolf and moose populations of the remote wilderness islands have fluctuated dramatically due to a variety of factors.
