State Lawmaker Wants Schools and Daycares to Post Immunization Rates Online

A state lawmaker wants schools and state licensed daycares to post their immunization rates online, so he’s sponsoring bills that would require it.

Senator Curtis Hertel says his bills are aimed at helping parents of at-risk kids make informed decisions.

The legislation would mandate that schools and daycare make immunization rates available on their websites.

Hertel says the information is already available on a state website, but this would make the information even more accessible to the community.

The legislation awaits action in a Senate committee.
