Apple Crop Not Too Badly Damaged By Frost

An early look at Michigan’s apple crop shows a late May frost did some damage but not a ton.

Frost rings look to be the extent of the damage.

They don’t impact how an apple tastes but will affect how it looks – leaving discolored bands going around the apple.

This spring’s frost was nothing like one three years ago which wiped out the entire apple crop outside of northern Michigan.

The apple harvest won’t begin for another two months.
