Morning Sports for Tuesday, April 29th:

MLB: Tigers Open Set at Chicago
The Tigers had yesterday off, and open a two-game set at Chicago against the White Sox tonight. Justin Verlander will face Jose Quintana. Hear the first pitch at 8:10 on AM 1400, WCCY.

Brewers Come Back to Beat Cardinals
The Brewers came from behind… and eventually beat the Cardinals 5-3 in 12 innings. Milwaukee trailed 3-0 after six innings… but tied the game in the top of the seventh. Lyle Overbay and Scooter Gennett each singled in runs… and Aramis Ramirez drove in another when he was hit in the elbow by a pitch with the bases loaded. It was the second straight inning in which he was hit… and Ramirez eventually had to leave the game. Neither team scored again until Khris Davis tripled home Jonathan Lucroy in the top of the 12th. Mark Reynolds then drove in Davis with a sacrifice fly… and Francisco Rodriguez came in to earn his 12th save of the season.

The Brewers continue that series in Saint Louis tonight. Kyle Lohse will start against Lance Lynn.

An x-ray of Ramirez’ bruised elbow showed no serious damage. There’s no word as to whether he’ll be available for tonight’s game. Milwaukee continues to play short-handed. Shortstop Jean Segura may be able to take batting practice today, as he recovers from being accidentally his in the face with a bat by Ryan Braun. Braun’s outlook is fuzzier… as he deals with an intercostal muscle strain. Manager Ron Roenike said Braun might be able to try some batting practice today.
