International Bridge To Go All-LED

The International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie is switching to LED lighting.

Bridge officials say the LED bulbs are 20-percent more effective in lighting the roadway, and will save at least $75,000 over the life of the fixtures.

Both the U-S and Canadian bridge arches will be getting the change to new lights in August. The yellow and white lights will become red, white, and blue on the American side, and red and white on the Canadian side.

The current bulbs will be taken off-line in late July and the new ones will be lit by August 12th.
