Big Crowds Anticipated During BridgeFEAST This Weekend

The grills will be blazing and the outdoor stage will be rocking at Houghton Rotary Club’s 30th annual BridgeFEAST, this weekend at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park, brought to you in partnership with UP Health System–Portage.

The excitement begins at 5 p.m. Friday, June 19, with tasty offerings from Library Restaurant & Brew Pub, Habaneros Fresh Mexican Kitchen and Fitzgerald’s. BridgeFEAST fun continues on Saturday, June 20, starting at noon with food and beverage service, with live entertainment onstage showcasing local music and talent until midnight both Friday and Saturday.

Avoid lines by purchasing BridgeFEAST tokens in advance for food and beverages, including fresh lobster dinners, at bridgefeast.com. Lobster dinners are $25 each, and 11-token packages are $10 when ordered online. Pre-paid token packs can be picked up in the token tent near the entrance of the park.

In addition, Houghton Public Transit will run a free shuttle service both nights, looping from Dee Stadium to the BridgeFEAST site at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park.

Since it began in 1985 as Seafood Fest, BridgeFEAST has raised more than $400,000, becoming Houghton Rotary’s largest fundraiser.  Funds generated from the event are contributed back into the community for service projects, organizations and scholarship opportunities.

BridgeFEAST is made possible by the generous support of lead sponsor, UP Health System – Portage and the dedicated volunteers of Houghton Rotary. Other major sponsors include Michigan Tech Dining Services, Upper Peninsula Power Company, Walmart, and The Daily Mining Gazette.
