Preparations are underway for the Houghton County Fair.
The Fair Exhibitor’s Guide is ready and may be picked up at Erickson’s Feed, Seed and Pet Supply, the Keweenaw Peninsula Chamber of Commerce in Houghton, the Keweenaw Visitor’s Center in Calumet, Superior National Bank in Hancock, and the MSU Extension office in Hancock.
You can also pick up a copy at the fair office on Wednesdays from noon to 3:00pm.

Online entries are up and running. Applications for vendors are also available on their website.

Due to a decision by the state to prevent the spread of avian flu, all poultry classes are cancelled for 2015 except for the poster contests.
There will be a work bee in the exhibit building of the fairgrounds this Monday at 6pm. They will be painting the white boards and would welcome any one’s help if you can lend a hand for an hour or two.
The Houghton County Fair takes place August 27th through the 30th.
