Camp B&E Suspect Arraigned

The South Range man accused of breaking into a seasonal residence in Duncan Township was arraigned in court Thursday.

49-year-old Camiel Bryce Vanhaecke was arraigned in Houghton County on charges of home invasion- second degree, a 15-year-felony, and possession of burglar’s tools, which is a 10-year felony.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post arrested Vanhaecke in Baraga Tuesday.

Troopers executed search warrants at several different locations in both Baraga and Houghton County and seized numerous items of property from the locations.

Police say the owners of the property seized have been notified.

Vanhaecke remains lodged in the Houghton County jail on a $250,000 cash bond. His preliminary exam is set for July 1st.
