Hancock continues making memories on the Quincy Green while sledding with the Copper Country’s kids

Through its various owners the Quincy Green remains a central gathering place for Hancock’s Community. And will continue to offer the city’s residents a place to celebrate, relax, and commune for many more years. After Finlandia University closed the city purchased the area from the Finlandia Foundation National for 140,000 dollars.

Throughout the year the Quincy Green hosts Heikinpaiva, Bridgefest activities, the End of Summer celebration, Canal Run’s finish line. It has also been the location of the most accessible sled hill for the Copper Country’s kids. While schools let out during winter break kids and families often fill days with fun sledding with friends.

On Saturday Hancock will host the city’s annual sledding party with the children of the Keweenaw. The city invites families and kids to the Quincy Green to enjoy a copper country winter day, hot cocoa, and plenty of fun. The sledding party will begin at 2 pm.
