Exploring Maasto Hiihto Trails by candlelight with the Keweenaw Trails Club

With so much snow on the ground already some may have taken to the cross-country ski trails.

While the daytime and sunlight offer expansive views of the forests and landscape. There’s something special about an opportunity to race down the trail lit by candlelight.

This evening the Keweenaw Trails Club will host the annual luminary ski event at the Maasto Hiihto ski trails. The one and two-kilometer loops will light up and glow by candlelight from 6 to 8 pm. The family-friendly event encourages Nordic skiers, snowshoe hikers, and snow bikers to explore the Maasto Hiihto trail network at different times of the year. The event’s organizers ask participants to meet at the four-season chalet in the driving park.
