The MSP Calumet Post collects more than 5,100 pounds of food for local pantries

During December Michigan State Police Troopers delivered more than tickets to drivers speeding on highways or delivered assistance to a car stuck in a snow bank.

The state police agency delivered some joy and Christmas cheer to children in the Upper Peninsula. Throughout the region, the Michigan state police agency’s posts organized events to collect donations from the community.

The Calumet Post held five events and collected more than 5100 pounds of food for the CLK pantry, Angel Mission St Vincent de Paul, and Little Brother friends of the elderly. Lieutenant Ben Eckola says the post thanks the community and its partners who participated in events and assisted in making this winter’s events a success.
