In high school boys basketball last night…

  • Calumet stopped Hancock 65-31. Gavin Sturos led the Copper Kings with 20 points. AJ Dulong scored eight for the Bulldogs. Hear the game replay here.
  • Jeffers got past Lake Linden-Hubbell 50-44.
  • Chassell fell to Ironwood 75-46.
  • Ewen-Trout Creek outscored Ontonagon 60-41.

In girls action…

  • Houghton lost at Gladstone 39-36. Ruby Zawada scored 13 for the Gremlins.
  • Hancock fell to Ishpeming 40-32. 
  • Jeffers defeated Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 52-38
  • Baraga outscored Stephenson 53-44.
  • Chassell lost to Ironwood 58-23.
  • Ewen-Trout Creek shut down Ontonagon 60-19.
  • West Iron County lost to Escanaba 47-25.
  • Forest Park stopped Superior Central 37-22.

On the boys schedule tonight…

  • L’Anse plays at Houghton. The JV contest will tip off at 4:30, and the varsity at 6:00. After the game, the Gremlins will hold a “meet the team” session. Students who took part in the Saturday Gremlin Basketball League will get into the game for free if they wear their Gremlin League t-shirt.
  • Calumet visits Baraga.
  • Forest Park welcomes Munising, with the broadcast on 99.1 WIKB.

On tonight’s girls schedule…

  • Calumet plays at L’Anse, in a make-up game for a snowout December 5th.

In hockey last night…

  • Jeffers wiped out Kingsford 8-1. The Jets improve to 9-1, and lead the Great Lakes Conference.

  • Houghton entertains Hartland. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
  • Calumet hosts Trenton. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. Fans are encouraged to take part in a Teddy Bear Toss at the game. New stuffed animals thrown onto the ice will be given to local kids for Christmas.
  • The Hancock hockey team will welcome Santa for a public skating session tonight from 6:45 until 8:00 at the HoCo.

College Basketball

The Northern Michigan women’s basketball team plays at Northwood this afternoon.

The NMU men’s team hosts Northland tomorrow afternoon.

The Pistons lost to the Jazz 126-119 last night. Cade Cunningham scored 33.
