Houghton County seeks a new member for the county planning commission

Houghton County seeks a member of the community to fill a vacancy on the county planning commission. In November the county opened applications for a vacant seat on the Houghton County Planning Commission’s board. At that time the county did not receive an application. Members of the planning commission assist the county with plans for development, land use, and growth.

The new member will fill Timothy Sears’ seat. Sears also assisted the planning commission as the board’s secretary. His term is set to conclude at the end of the year.

The Houghton County Planning Commission meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 4 pm at the Houghton County courthouse. The Houghton County Planning Commission will meet tomorrow.
