Snow has come to the Upper Peninsula. So snowmobilers can take to the trails. But before riders can get outside, trail grooming and snowmobile clubs need to create a flat track. Gogebic Area Grooming recently announced the club has started work for the season, in partnership with private land owners and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and the community will have great conditions over the weekend. Trails 1N and 1S trails 8E and 8W, as well as feeder trails, have been completed during the week. The club says 8W still has some large water holes along the trail, encouraging to use caution when in the area. Conditions continue to improve daily, despite only one machine running currently.
Along with the Gogebic Area Grooming sharing trail conditions updates, the club announced two fundraising events that will occur during the snowmobile season. Next Saturday the club will host a Trivia night at AJ’s Lodge and Oven in Bergland. And then the club will hold a 50/50 raffle drawing in March.
