Tebbassum and Maxwell-Abrams provide encouragement to graduates at Mid-Year 2024 Commencement

The final semester on campus is special. Today some Huskies will walk around campus for the last time as students. And tomorrow they will become alumni of Michigan Technological University.

Midyear commencement will begin tomorrow. Families will celebrate the milestone event with their husky. While Graduates listen to the encouragement of an alumna. And hear the toast of a fellow graduate.

Mehnaz Tebbassum completed her PhD. in electrical engineering in 2023. She now works as an assistant teaching professor at Wichita State University focused on vehicular communication in advancing intelligent transportation systems. Midyear graduation’s second speaker Aliyah Maxwell-Abrams will earn an undergraduate civil engineering degree. They plan to begin a career in renewable energy as an engineer-in-training with Stantec in Chicago.

Commencement will begin at 10:30 am tomorrow inside the Varsity Gym at the Student Development Complex. The SDC is located at 600 MacInnes Drive. Find more information here.
