Western UP Citizen Advisory Council meets next week to discuss upcoming winter snowsports and deer rifle season harvest

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announces the western Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Council will meet next week for a review of the 2024 deer rifle season, and look ahead into winter snow sports. The Western UP Citizens’ advisory commission will meet on December 12th from 6 to 8:30 pm to discuss the recent deer rifle season and this season’s harvest numbers. The group will also discuss the upcoming snowmobile season.

The Advisory commission works with the department of natural resources to provide community input and insight to the state’s resource department for recreation and environmental opportunities. Council members are made up of local residents from the western Upper Peninsula. Those interested in attending the virtual advisory council meeting can find more details here.
