Giving Tuesday amplifies the non-profit community in the Copper Country

The big day with the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation starts bright and early today. Giving Tuesday with Copper Shores and the 2024 fifty causes and community organizations meet at the Copper Country Mall. The day is full of positive excitement around the Copper Country’s non-profit community, which works with children, families, elders, nature, and much more to create a healthy Keweenaw community.

Positive things for your community and helping people find a spot to feel a connection within our community. So that opened things up. That’s one of the reasons we have 14 new nonprofits this year and one of the reasons we’ve seen so many more applications for grants coming in from different angles: We want to make sure people have that connection to do good, healthful things for themselves. – Michael Babcock, Director of Communication and Donor Relations, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation

While many donations pour in via the Copper Shores Giving Tuesday portal, some local residents might choose to stop by the day’s event to learn more about the groups they plan to donate to or how different non-profits can impact their lives.

We’re seeing where the heart of our community is. They’re supporting our community members and are supporting the things that are most important to them. And that amplification fund is just going to help amplify that. One of the big audiences for that application fund that I wanted to put out there in a clean way, is that we’re we think this is a really good opportunity for corporations and businesses to give back in a really meaningful way. We would love to see some of our larger businesses and corporations in our area make a large donation to the Amplification Fund, knowing that it’s going to go out and support all these organizations. – Michael Babcock, Director of Communication and Donor Relations, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation
