Obituary: Nanda Kangas

Nanda Kangas, 78, of Lake Linden, passed away on November 20, 2024, at Aspirus-Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.

                She was born on May 31, 1946 in the Netherlands.  She worked in data entry and customer service.

                Nanda loved playing music and enjoying time with family.  She had a “love connection” with her husband, Jack, like no other.  Together, they played in a country band, “Stubborn Country,” for over 40 years in many different areas in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan, and did anything and everything for communities all over.

                She was preceded in death by: father-Herman Barendsen and mother-Marie (Louie) Nudi.

                She is survived by: her husband-Jack Kangas; children-Ramona Shemak, Randy Martin, Cynthia Kangas, Keith (Mary) Kangas, Mark (Rachel) Kangas, and Leilani (Bill) Maydole; grandchildren-Brooke Shemak, Jacob Martin, Jason Martin, Lea York, Kyle York, Amanda Kangas, Kristen Wojcik (Kate), Lauren Kangas, Sarah Kangas, Gregg Kangas (Jennifer), Samantha Nault (Mitch), and Heather Harrington; 14 great-grandchildren.

                A celebration of life is planned for the spring.  The Pearce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
